Lake Explanation: I would translate the word the first time it appears then leave it as part of the place name. Although 'estany' is usually translated as 'pond', if you look at the photos in the reference, they look more lie lakes. http://es.geoview.info/contraix,666811555n -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 54 mins (2014-06-14 08:26:44 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- 'Estany' is a lake, not a pond! Estany i no llac. Els "llacs", a casa nostra, són d’importació. http://www.oocities.org/athens/pantheon/8883/lexic28.html -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2014-06-14 08:45:05 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Sorry, I meant to write 'they look more like (not lie) lakes'! -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 8 hrs (2014-06-14 16:21:18 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Here's a photo of one: http://www.gettyimages.in/detail/photo/hiker-near-mountain-l... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 8 hrs (2014-06-14 16:25:35 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- https://www.flickr.com/photos/franciscoantunes/6158031209/ |
