生畜 Explanation: I agree with "multiverse": 「生畜」is an abbreviation of the full title of the government office that created the document, the「農林水産省生産局畜産部」, and「生畜第5000号生産局長通知」is a reference for identifying that document. So, I would put 'SeiChiku'. The same occurs with some high school graduation certificates (documents created by another government agency), for example, 「北高証第○○号」, which is an abbreviation of 「北陸高等学校証明第○○号」: in this instance I would put "HokuKoSho No. XX" as it is an identifying 'code', rather than a name that needs to be translated for its meaning. |

Reference: 生畜 & livestock Reference information: 生畜第1581号農林水産省生産局畜産部畜産振興課長通知 上記のような例から判断しますと「生畜」は「農林水産省生産局畜産部」を略した表現であると考えられ、これを"livestock"と訳すことはできないでしょう。なお、「生畜」なる用語は中国語と韓国語のサイトではよく使われているものの、「生きた家畜」の意味で使われることは日本語のサイトでは極めて稀なようです。また、英訳に"SEICHIKU"などと入れてみてもほとんど無意味であり、省略すべきであると考えます。 |
