Drug addiction service units (SerDs) Explanation: Not sure about officiality, but the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction at https://www.emcdda.europa.eu/node/2624 says: The Italian drug treatment system includes two complementary sub-systems: in 2014 there were 620 public drug addiction service units (SerDs) and 808 social-rehabilitative facilities (mainly residential or semi-residential). SerDs mainly carry out outpatient treatment, and are part of the national health system. |

addiction services/units Explanation: Not just drug addiction: I Servizi per le Tossicodipendenze (SerT), o Servizi per le Dipendenze patologiche (SerD), sono i servizi pubblici del Sistema Sanitario Nazionale italiano (SSN), dedicati alla cura, alla prevenzione e alla riabilitazione delle persone che hanno problemi conseguenti all'abuso ed alla dipendenza di sostanze psicoattive come droghe ***o comportamenti compulsivi come il gioco d'azzardo patologico***. http://it.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Servizio_per_le_tossicodipend... There's no reason why part of the Italian health service should have an official translation - it's not an international body like the European Union or the United Nations. |
