According to the permit regulated by the office of land registration Explanation: Hebrew gets really tricky sometimes with abbreviations. Some additional context could help understand exactly what המהר''ם is. It's not an abbreviation I'm familiar with, but seems to indicate some regulating authority. Considering this is for a construction and land lease contract, I assume the last word is also misspelled (should be מקרקע or something else related). All things considered, my educated guess is that they are referring to a government office, possible for land registration. |

In compliance with the transaction permit enacted by our teacher, Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Kraków Explanation: Maharam of Krakow = Our teacher, the Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Kraków. He is responsible for the development of the Heter Iska, which is a permit allowing the collection of interest while not violating Jewish Law. His formulation of the Heter Iska is still in use in the modern era. https://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D7%9E%D7%A0%D7%97%D7%9D_%D7%9E%D7%A0%D7%93%D7%9C_%D7%90%D7%91%D7%99%D7%92%D7%93%D7%95%D7%A8%D7%A9 |
