This course is part of the curriculum for 1st year medical school students in France (2019-2020 academic year).

The fuller context is:
Métrologie : Unités et équations aux dimensions, précision d’une mesure.

I know it has to do with dimensional analysis, (the French Wikipedia page on dimensional analysis explains what "équations aux dimensions" are), but I cannot figure out the translation in English.

Math experts, your insights would be much appreciated!

dimensional equations
Explanation:
All physical quantities have "dimensions", e.g. mass, length, time, often raised to some power, e.g. area is length squared (L^2), energy is proportional to mass x (velocity)^2 [M(L^2T^-2)] and so on. Equations are often greatly simplified by making them dimensionLESS. See https://www.askiitians.com/iit-jee-physics/general-physics/d... for quite a clear description, but there are many, many sites that deal with dimensional equations, dimensional analysis and dimensionless constants, etc.

Units and base quantities

Explanation:
A strict translation would something like "units and relationships with base quantities". However, within the context of a terse description, I would just put "units and base quantities".

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thank you for this speedy response. I appreciate it and do not doubt its accuracy. However, as I am not a math specialist, I am going with the other answer, which seems to better reflect the French. I believe "base quanitities" translates as "grandeurs de base".
