English term or phrase: savoury
So your first challenge
is to make a savoury picnic pie.
When you cut into it
we'd like some kind of design inside.
Remember it is for a picnic,
so it should be presented out of the tin.
The reason why we chose
the savoury picnic pie in this challenge.

Is 'savourvy picnic pie' a type of specific pie? I mean, does savory here means yummy or delicious, or is it just a salty or spicy pie?

not sweet
Explanation:
I know David said this as a part of his answer, but his emphasis is wrong in my opinion. We're not trying to get viewers' mouths watering - this simply means that the pie is not sweet. Apples and cherries are sweet, potatoes and onions are savory.

disagree  Tony M: Not here! Clearly, there would be no logic to their asking for a pie that was UNattractive, which would be the logical opposition to this!

neutral  philgoddard: As opposed to "we're going to make an unsavory pie"?

Savoury food is salty or spicy and not sweet in taste.

we need terms that get the viewers mouth to water

--------------------------------------------------

"savoury" literally means "spicy" or "salty" as opposed to "sweet" but I think you could also add "tasty" to get the viewers' taste buds going

should read "viewer's mouth" or "viewers' mouths"
