Italian term or phrase: abbozzo
I'm looking for some help with the translation of the term abbozzo as despite searching high and low I can't seem to find anything suitable for the following:

intrauterina

2. Abbozzo epidermico del follicolo (in reference to hair)

3. Abbozzo pilifero (again in reference to hair)

Here is what I have found although it unfortunately does not help with the translation!

Definizione di abbozzo:

2. IATE, voce: abbozzo embrionale = primitive organs

Any help and suggestions much appreciated as always!

Explanation:
Ciao Ivana!

2. hair follicle development/formation of hair follicle
3. hair bud

1. Individual digits are discernible from the eighth week of gestation [1]. The first embryonic element of the nail unit is the nail anlage present from 9 weeks as the epidermis overlying the dorsal tip of the digit.
https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/j.1467-2494...

2, 3. Embryologic hair follicle development occurs in 4 distinct stages to form the hair bud, hair bulb, hair cone, and finally the hair and its associated sebaceous gland. The formation of the follicles starts as early as the ninth week of intrauterine life and progresses in a cephalo-caudal direction. Development begins with a hair bud, a solid epidermal proliferation that penetrates the coarse dermis.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Bruna!

Asker: Anche a me mancano molto quei tempi, eravamo come una grande famiglia!

Asker: I think anlage can be used for all instances of abbozzo here - medullary anlage, hair follicle anlage, nail anlage, hair anlage .... and the same applies to a few other types of abozzo in my file!

neutral  philgoddard: You should have waited for the very belated context! Could it be "medulla anlage"?

agree  NPutt: "primordium" looks perfect, from the online definitions; otherwise I would have thought of "nascent"; in metaphoric expression also "the germ of ...", but as Michele, obviously expert !! offers - "primordium" seems the ideal!
