Spanish term or phrase: GUÍA DOCENTE

I am just wondering if there is a standard term for this as I have to translate a few of them. The Complutense seems to use "Study Porgramme". I have looked at the websites of a few UK universities but found nothing similar except perhaps "Course Details".

Here is a description in Spanish:

Las guías docentes son documentos en los que se especifican todos los aspectos de una titulación universitaria o de una asignatura. Aparecen descritos los objetivos, las competencias que se adquieren, el programa, la metodología, la bibliografía, y el catálogo de técnicas docentes y actividades académicas.

As mentioned in a recent post of mine in Discussion, another useful word might be 'official,' e.g., 'official course outline.'

Whatever term is ultimately used, it's probably important there be a distinction between this document (approved at the institutional level) and the course syllabus, which is created by instructors. In short, faculty members may be able to adapt their course syllabi (in the context of academic freedom perhaps), but changes to a course guide need to go through the curriculum-related governance body, which, at my previous college, was the Academic Council (for sample course guides, see http://www.marianas.edu).

Following the point in Discussion that both 'titulación' and 'asignatura' are mentioned, you might consider Individual Degree Plans (IDPs) and Course Guides:

Individual Degree Plans or Programme Guides with regard to 'titulación,' and Course Guides with regard to the 'asignaturas'. In IDPs, there would typically be 'program learning outcomes' (PLOs) and in Course Guides, there would typically be 'student learning outcomes' (SLOs).

A section in these two documents (i.e., IDPs and course guides) is indeed a 'course description', but since the purpose of these documents is often to meet (sometimes rather demanding) accreditation standards, more details are normally included.

The source text also mentions that the 'guias' provide details on both 'titulación' and 'asignaturas''; thus, following the US model, I'd probably consider 'individual degree plan (IDP)' (or 'programme guide') with regard to 'titulación' and 'course guide' with regard to the 'asignaturas'.

I think you are speaking about the US, right? The examples I gave were from UK universities, where, as far as I know, they use course to refer to studies.

For example, in the last link I provided from the University of Manchester you can see "Course details", describing the whole BSc and a subsection with all course units. If you click on any of it, you'll see course unit details.

I understand it just depends on which country is it for.

The particulars of a given course are usually detailed in a document often called a 'course guide', wherein the student learning objectives (or 'outcomes') and the course's content are described and used as the basis on which faculty members create syllabi for their students. This is my understanding at least, from years as a (full-time) faculty member at several colleges and universities. You could also call it something like the 'official course outline'. These documents are sometimes included on university websites in compliance with accreditation requirements in the context of transparency and college-wide governance.

Por lo que yo sé, en Reino Unido se suele utilizar "Module" o "course unit" para hablar de asignatura.

No sería mejor opción "Module/course unit description":

...we called them 'course guides'.

When approved by 'Academic Council', courses would be created with **course descriptions** for the catalogue.

El problema que tengo es que son las guías docentes de las asignaturas dentro del grado, por ejemplo "POLÍTICA MONETARIA, FINANCIERA Y FISCAL EN EL ENTORNO DE LA EMPRESA" pero aunque sea asignatura creo que "course description" es la mejor opción.
