Las placas alveolares pretensadas se utilizan también para los graderíos y se colocan escalonadas sobre unos apoyos formados por una estructura forjada.

Su alta resistencia, así como su longitud, permiten espaciar largamente sus puntos de apoyo, y soportar grandes concentraciones de público. Además, su amplitud permite, no solamente la colocación de asientos, sino un amplio espacio para el paso del público.

La altura de la placa revierte en su mayor resistencia y sirve para cerrar la parte vertical de cada fila, de manera que en su colocación escalonada, las gradas quedan perfectamente ensambladas, cerrando así el hueco entre una placa y otra.

"avoir pour effet" me semble légèrement plus en accord avec le sens original de "revierte" mas "favorise" est bien aussi.
