Hello,

I have some files in the AI format (Adobe Illustrator) and I was wondering if there was a way to work on them directly with SDL Trados Studio 2009 or at least convert them to a format that I could use with Trados Studio.

Thanks !

Regards,

Mohamed

Salam,

It doesn't work ! Probably because I'm using CS5 but I found an interesting plugins that makes using right-to-left languages easier without requiring the ME version of Illustrator. It's called indic plus and does the trick pretty well.

Thanks a lot for your help brother.

Best regards,

Mohamed

As a pdf you'll need to OCR it and it won't render well afterwards !

Thanks for your suggestion

A Trados 2024/2021 plugin to translate Adobe Illustrator .AI files Aug 22

Hi everyone,
For those looking for a professional way to translate .ai files, my team has developed an automated tool that extracts Illustrator text directly into XLIFF.
This allows you to open the file natively in Trados Studio and perform a back-insertion once translated. The system also includes DTP features like composite-font-like "font-mapping" —a major time-saver for Western-CJK projects.

How to try it: Simply install the Tokr Hub Desktop application directly from the Microsoft Store using this link:

The Hub will automatically take care of installing the Trados plugin and managing the licensing for you.
You can learn more and see the technical details here: http://www.tokr.asia/docs/
