On the other hand, it may be that as incomes increase, people purchase less coffee, perhaps spending their money on cognac instead. Changes in income affect demand one way or the other, but sometimes it is hard to predict the direction of the change.
If a rise in income increases demand (other things being same), the good is called a normal good. If an increase in income decreases the demand (other things being the same), the good is called an inferior good.

This is how we met: I was looking for a student to take me around town, be my language teacher in communicating with people and guide me into Yerevan’s past and present. Lilia is 20. I bet you would barely find a lady of 20 in the US or Western Europe to be that well educated.
Lilia is full of stories and history on Armenia, full of love for Armenia and Yerevan. It is thanks to her that I started to understand this country.
I came to know that Armenia’s budget for education is extremely tight. It’s really a very sad fact. Modern societies are based on the knowledge, on the skills of their youth. No development is possible without investment in the education of youth. I appreciate Lilia’s effort to combine her studies with her paid job. Every day she goes to work and to university.

English to Russian: NGO Activity
Mənbə mətni - English The organization of M works in the republic of K since 1992. The main direction of M’s activity is to take measures to resolve a range of humanitarian issues caused as a result of the armed conflict of early 1990th. Working in cooperation with your government, M carries out a number of relief programs to assist the most vulnerable parts of the population. Hundreds of residents of the republic have already benefitted from our program, including families without breadwinners, families of missing persons, disabled persons, lonely pensioners and other categories.
Along with relief projects, М is also dealing with the problems of POWs and detained persons. In particular, M carries out visits to the detention places all over the republic, in order to regularly monitor the detention conditions of those deprived of freedom.
Another important branch of M’s activity focuses on the efforts to clarify the fate of missing persons. As part of this program, M is planning soon to launch a new project to collect detailed data about missing persons. According to the program’s goal, the data collected from the relatives will subsequently be entered into a special database so as to use them when conducting a personal identification process.

Основным направлением деятельности М является принятие мер по решению ряда гуманитарных проблем вызванных последствиями вооруженного конфликта начала девяностых годов. Работая в сотрудничестве с вашим правительством, М осуществляет ряд программ по оказанию материальной помощи наиболее уязвимым слоям населения. В рамках этой деятельности М планирует вскоре запустить новую программу по сбору подробных данных о лицах пропавших безвести. По замыслу программы, собранные у родственников сведения будут затем занесены в специальную базу данных для их использования при проведении процесса идентификации личности.

Tərcümə - English The study intends to substantiate the thesis that the moral and ethical law defined therein as the spiritual superstructure of social life can at the same time be viewed as a comprehensive generalization of the basic principles underlying the universe, presented to us by the contemporary classical science.
In light of the proposed research, also the formulation of a uniform cognitive methodology is described with regard to both the natural sciences and humanities. And this latter implies the emergence of a new philosophy underlying the scientific cognition of the world surrounding us.
Besides, the study suggests introducing a number of methodological changes in the existing scientific-philosophical terminology, due to which the description of the principles acting in the sphere of humanities will acquire the same kind of logical rigor and universality as it is characteristic for Exact Sciences.

About my Education:
Unfortunately, I cannot boast about having any kind of impressing or shocking grades, degrees, ranks etc. I never had the chance to achieve these heights under the Soviet rule. However, as one great man once put it: Everything is relative in our sinful world.
In actual fact, I am a self-educated translator. I studied English at school and later continued improving my skills by extensive reading, practicing and involving in different professional projects. On a couple of occasions, I applied for translation jobs in serious International organizations and found myself selected as the best candidate out of “high-ranked” applicants.
With regard to my formal education, I finished a Russian secondary school and continued my studies at the Faculty of Commerce at Moscow Institute of National Economy (with advanced teaching of English language) in 1976-1979. During the subsequent years, I worked in different translation-related jobs translating non-fictional essays, articles, booklets etc. Over the last 18 years, I worked for several International organizations as a translator/interpreter and translated miscellaneous governmental documents, reports, voluminous surveys, studies and other materials.
