Hello everybody,

A friend of mine fell in love with a poem from Oto Dokan, a samouraï from the 15th century.

Here is the poem in English :

Had I not known
that I was dead
already
I would have mourned
my loss of life.

Can someone tell me where or how we can get the Japanese (original) version ?

Many thanks in advance !

Hi Sandrine,

This was in the Japanese Wikipedia:

かかる時さこそ命の惜しからめ
かねてなき身と思い知らずば

By the way, is Ōta, not Oto.

Kind regards,

Narcís
