Comments on a school report: 'reflection' doesn't quite cut it. How to translate: 'mature and deep understanding', 'thoughtful', 'deep thinker'

I think that "deep understanding", although technically correct, is probably not appropriate for a school kid. The parents would be delighted, though...

.... is what I imagine one could expect to say. Not a direct translation, but imo, this covers what is meant. Good luck!

Good thought process(es)

If you are looking for a term that will fit both these phrases, I think this is generic enough. I think it is better not to go for something too fancy here or may end up overtranslating, which could be easily done with this word.

Different forms could also be used:

"Processes thoughts with maturity and depth"
"Has a deep and mature thought processing method"
"Maturely and profoundly processes his/her thoughts"
etc...
Example sentence:

"When the third year starts, the focus shifts towards the THOUGHT PROCESS and that excites the students."

"Trainers should have excellent interpersonal skills, and an ability to present themselves with confidence, speak before a large audience with conviction, a MATURE THOUGHT PROCESS to create training material relevant to their audience, spontaneity..."
