I've been working as a freelance translator in Berlin for about 5 years now. My main specifications are art and architecture, but I also quite frequently work in the fields of mechanical engineering, solar energy and computer programming. I've translated several almanachs and catalogues for the Berlin Jovis Verlag, worked with the Kunsthalle Bremen, the Bauhaus Archiv Berlin, Galerie Fahnemann Berlin and several individual American Artists.
My command of English derives firstly from a world tour which lead me to Australia and New Zealand. After that I was trained as a commercial correspond for English. Later on I did Slavonic and American studies at the FU Berlin. I finished as MA in Slavonic studies. I'm very fond of translating art-historical or -critical texts which have a philosophical background. But as I have to earn a living all kinds of jobs are quite welcome. I'm prepared to familiarize myself with new fields as well.
As I'm working as an active classical singer as well I'd really like to work in the field of music.
