I am a native speaker of British English and an experienced translator, consultant and trainer with a specific interest in better practice and the future of communication. Regarding my rather unusual username, if a language can be understood as a home for its users, my activity here would perhaps make me a variety of hob, that is, an English household spirit. I feel that the translation industry has a greater potential than it now fulfils, that we can expect major changes in language use and that we may wish to raise our game.
