On March 2 our Healthcare segment is opening the XXX Clinical Institute (TCI), in Shanghai, China. The TCI is one of the most advanced training centres of its kind in China and is an example of how XXX is bringing the latest innovations to this growing market. XXX employees and world-renowned surgeons will train medical professionals at the TCI’s operating stations, intensive care unit set-ups, sleep diagnostic centre, and laparoscopy skills lab. I’ll be attending the opening event along with Healthcare President Rich Meelia and members of XXX’s Corporate Executive team.
The TCI is just one example of XXX’s commitment to growth in China. With more than 28,000 workers in China in a growing number of locations, XXX is playing a significant role in the country’s emergence as a powerful social and economic engine for the 21st century. The unique traditions, enduring culture, and innovative energies of China are an inspiration to XXX—and a competitive advantage. Indeed, our opportunities in China seem as vast as the country itself.
That’s why we’re devoting this entire issue of XXX World to our China operations and employees. In these pages, you’ll learn about some of XXX’s proudest Chinese initiatives. Ничто в мире не случайно — и это известно уже очень давно, с момента достижения нами второго уровня сознания. Тем не менее, сама суть случайности — авансом пардон за каламбур! — отнюдь не случайна. И дело здесь вот в чём.
Человеческий мозг — удивительно точный компьютер, способный бегло решать такие далеко не детские задачи, как, скажем, дифференциальные уравнения. Толкая сферическое тело, — например, мячик, — мы выводим его из состояния покоя определённым импульсом, необходимым для преодоления конкретного расстояния с последующей остановкой в заданной точке. В случае погрешности, ею можно пренебречь без зазрения совести. Разумеется, если таковая наличествует. (Не совесть — погрешность). Так, масса тела (в данном случае мячика), гравитационная постоянная, сила трения качения сферических тел и энергия, передаваемая объекту и, следовательно, претерпевающая трансформацию по схеме «потенциал-кинетика», — всё это сосуществует в нас в не такой уж далёкой от абсолюта гармонии с нашей, казалось бы, полностью лишённой и толики математического совершенства че-ловеческой природой, равно как и вне всякого сопо-ставления с цифровым эквивалентом.
Однако ситуации, в которые нас вовлекает Её Ве-личество Жизнь, будут куда как сложнее всякого рода дифференциальных уравнений или гармонических прогрессий. Любое действие или бездействие, согласно Закону сохранения энергии (не по какой-то иной причине!), имеет свои последствия в некоторой точке пространственно-временной перспективы — причём как для субъекта, так и для объекта (объектов). Вопрос: прежде достижения объекта (объектов) и возвращения к субъекту, сколько транзиций (переходов из одного состояния в другое) преодолеет энергия, сознательно или несознательно направленная посредством действия или бездействия, и сколько времени это займёт?
Можно смело обобщить, что мы в своём подавляющем большинстве не способны решать задачи столь запредельного уровня сложности, ведь для этого наше сознание нуждается в чрезвычайно серьёзном «апгрейде». Таким образом, любые попытки осуществления точной энергетической проекции на четырёхмерную систему координат пространства-времени являются попросту несостоятельными.
Верить, полагать, понимать — это одно. Осознавать и быть способным управлять энергиями на всех уровнях микро— и макрокосма со всеми его катаклизмами и кажущимся невооружённому сознанию хаосом — нечто совершенно иное. Можем ли мы не на собственном примере «кары Божьей», не на смелых предположениях, пусть и на Здравом Смысле основанных, — а на деле, с точностью научного опыта, доказать отсутствие случайности как таковой? Даже если можем или сможем когда-нибудь — этого мало. Доказать факт существования и объяснить принцип действия — это только начало, первая капля. Остальное — и, стало быть, главное — инженерно-технический вопрос, решающийся во имя широкого внедрения и рационального использования того или иного изобретения. Так, к примеру, антиматерия, предмет вожделения всех физиков, — была-таки получена. Но с трудом добытые девять её атомов несколько наносекунд спустя «заявили», что с них достаточно, и сгинули из говёного мира сего. Когда урок будет полностью усвоен, и мы сможем не только получать, но и сохранять, и работать с заданным количеством антивещества — тогда будет реальная польза. Но даже в том случае термин «аннигиляция» останется, что называется, при своих.
Таким образом, несмотря на истину древних мудрецов — ничто не берётся из ничего и не исчезает бесследно, — целесообразным будет следующее: пока мы не осознаем все положения, состояния и, главное, взаимодействия энергий на всех уровнях пространственно-временного континуума — определённо не следует прибегать к субституции чудесного слова «случайность» не менее шармовитым «неожиданность».
Translation - Latvian First, a little bit regarding accidents.
There isn’t anything in the world happens by mere accident; it has been known since we have achieved the second level of consciousness. Nonetheless, the essence of the very concept of accident — in advance, pardon for the pun — is certainly not of accident. Let me invite you to delve deeply into the subject.
Human brain is astoundingly precise com¬puting machine. It is able to solve the mathematical problems, which are much far from those of kindergarten simplicity (such as differential equations, for example), in fluent mode. Pushing something spherical (a ball, for instance), we set it in motion with the amount of pulse which is necessary for the ball to pass certain distance and then stop at the desired point. A mistake that may occur can be easily scorned without a twinge of conscience. Of course, if there is one (I am talking about mistake, not conscience). That’s to say, the mass of the body (in this particular case, the ball), the gravitation constant, the friction force of rolling for spherical bodies, the energy expending for the initial amount of the motion, as well as its potential-kinetics transition — all these things coexist in us without any comparison with digital equivalent, though, being in a fair harmony with our human nature, which, as it seems to the most of us, is completely deprived of mathematical absolution.
We have always been — and shall be — involved in the situations of Her Majesty The Life which are tons more intricate than all kinds of indefinite integral balances, differential equations, or harmonic progressions. Any action, or the absence of one, due to the law of conservation of energy, has its positive or negative consequences for the object(s) and the subject likewise at some point of the time-and-space perspective. The question is: How many transitions does the energy come across, consciously or unconsciously forwarded by action or the absence of one, before it affects the object(s) and the subject, and how much time does it take?
It can be boldly generalised from the over-whelming majority of us are not able to solve the problems of such level of difficulty, since our conscience needs quite a serious “upgrade” for that.
Thereby, all attempts to implement the precise ener¬getic projection to the four-dimensional time-and-space coordinate system are simply unsubstantiated. From this we can conclude that the definition of “accident” — whether it is supposition or statement — is accurate indeed.
To believe, to suppose, or to understand — is one thing. But to realise and to have the ability to guiding of the energies at all levels of micro- and macrocosm with all of its cataclysmic transfor¬mations and chaos, what can appear to the naked conscience as, — is something very different. Are we able to demonstrate and to prove the non-existence of accident as such, using neither our own examples of “God’s retribution” nor the suppositions (even though based on the Common Sense) — but in practise, with the precision of a physical experiment? Even if we are or shall be someday — it is paltry few. To state the fact of existence and to explain the functioning principle — is just the beginning, the first grain. The rest — and, surely, the most — is the problem of engineering that needs to be solved for the sake of wide and rational introduction of a discovery. Well, the example is that antimatter was once received, but its nine atoms had had enough a few nanoseconds since they were born, and vanished from this crappy world. When the lesson will be completely mastered, and it will be possible for us to create, to save, and to work with a preset amount of antimatter — only then there will be the real benefit. The annihilation term, however, is never to be abolished anyway.
Hereby, in spite of the truth that has been brought to life by the ancient wise men — nothing comes out of nothing, and nothing vanishes without a trace, — expediency lies somewhere within following. Until we realise all the positions, states, and, mainly, interactions of the energies at all levels of the time-and-space continuum, we do not certainly need the substitution of the amazing ”accident” word for the no less charming ”surprise”.

Source text - Russian АКТУАЛЬНОСТЬ. Ритмичные движения характерны для многих видов спорта. Необходимость в выполнении ритмичных движений постоянно встречается в окружающей нас действительности. Жизненный опыт показывает, что физическое качество, которое мы называем ловкость и координация движений, неотъемлемый атрибут нашей обыденной и спортивной жизни. Та особенность ее, которая дает шансы человеку с самыми средними телесными данными одержать верх над любым великаном или атлетом. Разве не многообещающим выглядит то, что всесоюзный и европейский рекорды по прыжку в высоту с шестом — физическому упражнению, как раз целиком, строящемуся на ловкости, установил заслуженный мастер спорта Н. Г. Озолин, человек невысокого роста и не слишком атлетического телосложения? Ловкость сулит каждому осуществление на нем поговорки: «Мал золотник, да дорог». Повседневный опыт говорит о том, что ловкость не какое-то неизменяемое, прирожденное свойство, которое так же безнадежно рассчитывать заполучить, как изменить свой природный цвет глаз. Ловкость поддается упражнению. Существуют рекорды по быстроте, по силе, по выносливости, но до настоящего времени не придумали ни одного вида соревнований, на котором можно было бы добиваться первенства и рекордов прямым образом по ловкости. Ловкость помогает в целом ряде и легкоатлетических и спортивно-игровых действий, но всюду в них она, как режиссер спектакля, сама остается за сценой, и за ее счет призы получают то скорость, то выносливость, то сила. Это ставит ловкость в невыгодные внешние условия, но внутренне возвышает ее над всеми остальными качествами, придавая ей особенную заманчивость. На помощь в развитии этого комплексного качества приходит такая отрасль физической культуры и спорта как ритмическая гимнастика, помогающая развитию двигательных навыков, формированию красоты движений, содержащая в себе элементы искусства, позволяющая развивать нравственные и духовные стороны человека.
Translation - Latvian AKTUALITĀTE. Ritmiskas kustības ir raksturīgas vairākiem sporta veidiem. Nepieciešamība izpildīt ritmiskas kustības ir pastāvīgi sastopama apkārtējā realitātē. Dzīves pieredze liecina, ka fiziskas īpatnības, kādas mēs saucam par veiklību un kustību koordināciju, ir mūsu ikdienas un sporta dzīves neatņemama daļa. Šās īpašības dod parastam cilvēkam iespēju uzvarēt par jebkuru milzeni vai atlētu. Vai nav daudzsološs tas fakts, ka PSRS un Eiropas rekordi kārtslēkšanā — tieši tādam sporta veidam, kas pilnībā pamatojas uz veiklības, — savulaik piederēja N. Ozoļinam — cilvēkam ar mazu augumu un ar vienkāršo miesas uzbūvi? Uz jebkuru cilvēku, kurš veikluma apdāvināts, var attiecināt pazīstamo krievu sakāmvārdu: “Мал золотник — да дорог”, ko var tulkot ka „mazs, bet vērtīgs”. Ikdienas pieredze liecina, ka veiklība ir zināmā mērā iedzimta īpatnība, ko tikpat nav iespējams iegūt, kā mainīt savu acu krāsu. Tomēr, esošo veiklību var attīstīt. Ir ātruma, spēka, izturības rekordi, bet pagaidām nav izgudrots tāds sporta veids, kur tiešā veidā varētu iegūt pārākumu un uzstādīt rekordus veiklībā. Veiklība palīdz vairākos vieglatlētikas un sporta spēļu veidos, pati paliekot, tā sakot, kā izrādes režisors, aiz skatuves — un uz veiklības rēķina balvas iegūst ātrums, izturība un spēks. Tas padara veiklību par nosacīti neizdevīgu ārēji, bet iekšējā nozīmē objektīvi padara to par pārāku attiecībā uz visām minētām fiziskām īpašībām. Ritmiskā vingrošana ir viens no visnozīmīgākajiem veidiem, kas palīdz attīstīt veiklību: tā sekmē kustību iemaņu un skaistumu formēšanai un iekļauj sevī mākslas elementu, kā arī palīdz pilnveidot cilvēka tikumīgo un garīgo daļu virzienu.
