Spanish term

"instancia de reconocimiento"

Spanish to English Social Sciences Education / Pedagogy
In a letter from a Sagrado Corazon school in Mexico. This comes in a list of positive aspects of the school:

"Existe una vinculación con las instancias de reconocimiento oficial con sentido de responsibilidad y cooperación para asegurar relaciones positivas y eficazes que garantizan la validación y reconocimiento actulizado del Estado"

Thank you in advance

philgoddard Jul 8, 2013:
I would leave out some of the adjectives, as otherwise it will sound unctuous. You could say something like "we maintain close, cooperative relationships with accreditation bodies to ensure that we remain recognised by the government."
neilmac Jul 8, 2013:
How about something like this: "In a spirit of responsibility and cooperation, we maintain links with (the) official accreditation organisms to ensure positive and effective relations that guarantee blah blah etc etc..."

officially-recognised agencies

I give it a 'confidence level of 3' as without more context I don't know if there is a more specific word for these 'agencies'.

Thanks, Onidia :)
neutral philgoddard : Doesn't it mean accreditation bodies? I think they're doing the recognising, not being recognised. That's why it says "que garantizan la validación y reconocimiento actulizado del Estado"

Hmm, maybe I've read it the wrong way round. I think it's odd though to talk about 'accreditation bodies' with 'a sense of responsibility and cooperation' - isn't that a given in accreditation bodies?
agree neilmac : Agree with Phil's take on it. I think the "sentido de responsibilidad " refers to the "vinculación", i.e. the spirit of the link rather than the "instancias" per se...

Hi Neil, I think you should agree with Phil's entry rather than mine :))

accreditation body

I think this makes more sense in the context. See my suggested translation in the discussion entries.
