@ Asker Prices paid by the final buyer are usually called "retail SALE prices" (the price at which the retailer is selling). By analogy "retail purchase prices" would be prices at which the retailer is buying from distributors/wholesalers, which would agree with your explanation "Il s'agit de prix d'achat distributeur".

OTOH, given that sometimes terms are used rather loosely/approximatively, to be really sure a full sentence where this term is used would help. Or even a sentence or two before and after that one.

Virginie, Il faudrait mettre l'expression en contexte pour obtenir une réponse éclairée. Comme vous pouvez le constater, "prix d'achat distributeur" porte à interprétation...

Pour "retail purchase prices" on peut penser (littéralement) à "prix d'achat au détail", "prix [d'achat] de détail" ou "prix d'achat unitaire"; ces prix varient généralement avec les quantités commandées par le distributeur, ce qui expliquerait le pluriel de "prices". Sans plus d'info, comme le distributeur fait aussi un profit, on peut probablement éliminer "prix de détail suggéré".

J'aurais préféré un accord sur la première proposition de traduction plutôt qu'un désaccord sentencieux et moralisateur sur la seconde. Désaccord qui de plus enjoint de se méfier d'une bonne réponse..

THAT would agree with "Il s'agit de prix d'achat distributeur"


prix d'achat distributeur = price paid to "distributors" .

if it says "retail" then these "distributors" are selling to "détaillants".

Retail purchase price is the final price paid by the end customer as opposed to the wholesale price which is the price the seller paid for the product before adding a margin onto it.

In French, "prix d'achat" is the wholesale price, and "prix de vente (detail/consommateur)" is the retail purchase price that the end consumer pays.
