German term

Sympathie-Punkte

German to English Marketing Advertising / Public Relations Werbespiel
Feeling creative, anyone? This is from an online marketing game. My ideas for "Sympathie-Punkte" are all a little lame.

Auftrag: Finde Dein Glück in der Zukunft. Sammle möglichst viele Sympathie-Punkte. Und gewinne eine Reise nach XYZ [...]

Thanks in advance!

Discussion

Non-ProZ.com Apr 12, 2005:
@ Derek: I'm assuming they're the points one collects during the game.
@ Ian: my only defence is that I've been working on some dull stuff lately and it clearly hasn't been keeping all parts of my mind busy. ;-)
IanW (X) Apr 12, 2005:
Ian - first the weird reference to "soggy" in a question a few days ago (schwammig) and now this ...?
Non-ProZ.com Apr 12, 2005:
@ Ian: references to "ass" and "brownie points" in close proximity point (sorry) to an association I'd rather avoid... http://www.worldwidewords.org/qa/qa-bro3.htm
Non-ProZ.com Apr 12, 2005:
@ Brigitte: ;-)
@ Ian: Sadly, not much. I've not got the game to translate, just this intro. All I can say is that it's set in Europe in 2050. Otherwise my text is full of information-less sentences such as "Tipp: Jedes mal wenn du () siehst gehts weiter." - I've no idea what they're going to put in place of "()". :-(
BrigitteHilgner Apr 12, 2005:
Kudos points? ;-)
IanW (X) Apr 12, 2005:
Hi Ian - any chance of a little more info on the game itself?

profound ;-)
agree Derek Gill Franßen : How about "points for popularity?" :-) // I was thinking the same thing, but they might be confused with points earned in the game (or are these the points earned in the marketing game?). :-)

I'm now thinking 'points' on its own might be the safest bet
agree BrigitteHilgner : After some time to think about it, I believe this is probably the best solution - pleasant and comparatively "neutral" (given the lack of solid background information).

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "That man Cilian's racking up the points again today... Thanks everyone. I'm risking "popularity" rather than just points on their own - the original writer must have had a reason for using "Sympathie"."

brownie points

I'd need a little more info about the game itself, but "brownie points" is what springs repeatedly to mind.

Or, if there\'s no information available, just stick to \"points\" and cover yo\' ass.
