Spanish term

masa servicio

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Automotive / Cars & Trucks automobile specifications
In a list of specifications for a Mercedes SL 500:

Masa servicio: 0

I have only found this term in an ad for a second-hand compactor, but it is being sold in Spain and I cannot find this term in English, nor even know what it means.

"Service mass" gets some hits, but they're on junk websites and I don't know what it means. I found one that said "service mass including oil and coolant".
philgoddard Jul 28, 2019:
I found your compactor example, and the unit is kilograms. So it must be "mass".
Maybe bits keep falling off, and when its mass reaches zero, it's time for a service...
philgoddard Jul 28, 2019:
I think masa is probably mass, as in "masa por eje", but why would this be zero? And why no units?

ANOTHER INSTANCE I now have the same file but for a motorbike (Yamaha YP125R), in which case the MASA SERVICIO is 176 (no units specified). I don't know if this helps.

maximum load

Thank you for the new information:

The Spanish source term masa servicio for a Yamaha YP125R motorbike is 176 with no units specified.

The Yamaha XMAX YP250R Sports Owner's Manual says:

Maximum load:

YP250R 175 kg (386 lb)
YP250RA 171 kg (377 lb)
YP250R Sport: 173.5 kg (383 lb)

source: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/597152/Yamaha-Xmax-Yp250r-...

Yamaha YP125R and Yamaha YP250R look the same:
https://www.google.com/search?tbm=isch&q=("Yamaha YP125R" OR...
so my working assumption is that they should have the same maximum load specification.

which means:

1. the units are most likely kilograms (kg)
2. the most likely translation is maximum load

Of course, my working assumption is based on the currently available information. I hope this helps.

full service / full-car service

The Spanish word masa is translated mostly as mass but may also be translated as large-scale and in your context this could mean full-service or complete-service.

If we take this into account then possible translations for masa servicio could be:

- full service
- full-car service
- full-service car repair
- full-service car maintenance

English examples: https://www.google.com/search?q=site:.uk (full-car OR full-...

In the context of lifting machinery the translation would be lifting capacity but this is not what you are looking for since a Mercedes SL 500 is not designed for lifting anything. ;-)
