Discussion

Barend van Zadelhoff Jun 8, 2018:
Thank you for your appreciation.
Henk Sanderson Jun 8, 2018:
Exactly! It is about a chamber for the bearing, and the name for that chamber, in technical terms, is 'bore'. Actually, the etymology of a word is not that important when it is about technique; what is important is to understand the technical idea that is conveyed by the word and knowing how that same idea is expressed in the other language.
Barend van Zadelhoff Jun 8, 2018:
As far as the word is concerned, it's the gerund of 'kameren', it comes down to 'constituting a chamber for something'.

Perhaps it could just be translated as 'chambers' here.
Michael Beijer Jun 8, 2018:
see also (with useful illustration!): "We kiezen een passing die ofwel licht klemt ofwel licht glijdt. De diameter van de kamering in het deksel (of huis) is:

+0.018
-0.012

Dit is ISO-tolerantie J7.

I think it's Belgian lingo I found this:

"..... opgebouwd uit gegoten brons, waarin uitsparingen (kameringen) voorzien."

Typo? Zou het kamringen kunnen zijn?
