Depending on your text, I think I'd go for a less literal translation; something that is less literary and overblown than the Italian -- and closer to what we might actually say in English.

Yes, I must say I paused with that word as well. But then if you read the whole phrase it's a hard sell the whole way with really aggressive terms. So I figured just go with it....

A couple of suggestions. I do not think this can literally be translated word for word, but something close could easily be found. I think that the idea here is the world of varying degrees of passion. e.g.
"...young people searching for places where they can abandon themselves inthat universe of passion and carefreeness..."
"...young people in search of a place where they can lose themselves in a spectrum of passion and abandonment..."
