left him stunned/astounded

In football, when player goes past one another from the opposing team, in a fashion that this player didn't stand a chance of stopping him, the defending player is left stunned/astounded, without realizing what happened nor thinking what to do next.

"pintado" because the opposing player is so well beaten he is left looking as if he was painted on the pitch.
