mitral valve insufficiency
I'm translating a report for a patient with dilated cardiomyopathy, in the "comments and conclusions" section it says:
"Moderata insufficienza valvolare mitralica centrale (diam vena contracta 0.4cm) da deficit di coaptazione"
I'm wondering whether "coaptazione" is a typo for "captazione" but even so, I still don't know what it is. "Retention deficit" or something??

It happens. In any case it's not an easy term, don't feel bad about it! :)
