It is reported in a patient's notes that there were no signs of "ulnaris affeksjon" - they appear to have a dodgy arm/elbow/shoulder. Suggestions?

ulnar nerve (is not) affected
..or no ulnar nerve affection.
Ulnaris names the artery, vein and nerve running along the ulnar aspect of the arm, ie. arteria ulnaris , vena ulnaris and ulnarisnerven. Ulna is simply ulna in Norwegian, too. It is most likely that the term refers to the ulnar nerve which easily becomes entrapped when the joint is "dodgy" as you say. Assessing nerve affection is standard when evaluating joint injury/function.

: Ulnaris refers to anatomy along the ulnar (or medial) side of the arm, and is a term indicating territory, not a structure. The bone itself is simply called ulna.
