Czech term

odolný

Czech to English Tech/Engineering Computers: Systems, Networks virtual servers
Obecně se vyplatí držet pravidla, že stavíme datové centrum tak, aby bylo odolné minimálně proti výpadku jednoho z prvků nebo komponenty v každé vrstvě.

Discussion

Karel Kosman (asker) Mar 6, 2013:
will try to read more articles on it but interesting virtual system on different physical servers, so if a component on a layer fails, a same component on another layer can instantly take its place, in effect making it practically unstoppable.
Scott Evan Andrews Mar 6, 2013:
I suppose this would depend on its nature being proactive or reactive...proactive would make it resistant (and indeed resilient :) ), whereas tolerant would mean that it would able to tolerate or handle the power failure...I don't think that's what's meant, it has a system that somehow "resists", I think, the ill effects through redundancy, installing an uninterruptible power supply, etc.
Karel Kosman (asker) Mar 6, 2013:
tolerant? the top two terms already occurred to me, but how about this one. been reading some online articles on this subject and they seem to use this term a fair bit. seem also feasible?

Resilient File System
odolný systém souborů

A file system, introduced with Windows Server 8, that provides resiliency to both software and hardware errors. ReFS allows customers to maximize server uptime and prioritize volume availability without the use of expensive storage hardware.

agree Petr Kedzior : také bych dal toto, případně robust, jak uvádím v samostatném návrhu

Díky, Petře!
agree Jitka Komarkova (Mgr.) : "resilient" vyskytuje se v tomto smyslu často ve zdrojích k tomuto tématu, např. viz http://www.symantec.com/connect/blogs/cloud-and-data-center-...
