Spanish term

equilibrio [Validación Metodología Analítica]

Spanish to English Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals
Context: Validation of an (HPLC-based) analytical method

In the conclusion the following sentence appears:

De acuerdo con el grado de precisión obtenido en el sistema evaluado (valor de RSD) en una concentración al 100%, se demuestra un alto grado de confiabilidad y equilibrio en el sistema cromatografico empleado para el análisis.

I understand what confiabilidad means. But what on earth is the equilibrio?

balance

I believe it means that the analytical method / set up of the HPLC instrument is "balanced" in that it covers all of the analytes of interest and they are separable and detectable. It's possible that all analytes are detected but in one big peak making it impossible to distinguish each of them, i.e. the method would "not be balanced".

Equilibrium between the mobile and stationary phases is never quite achieved in a chromatographic system. The further from equilibrium the system is operating .
