According to the authority performing the valuation, as a house number, the calculation is based on some CHF 800-1,000 per square meter per year.

Rental value

What is meant by "as a house number" here? Any rephrasing?

Something like www.zillow.com - you enter an address and it gives you values for that house and surrounding homes. I agree with Sheila that it does sound as if a non-native wrote it.

Could be But it's a strange way of saying it. I would have thought it's most likely something written by a non-native speaker (is the rest of the text OK?) or just an error (cut-and-paste gone wrong?).

There are several websites that will provide home valuations based on the input of postal code and address. So someone has performed such a valuation with the result of CHF 800-1,000 per square meter per year for rental value.

neutral Donna Stevens : I was unaware of that idiom. It would be best to check with the author to ascertain what he really meant, since it is possible to use a house number to find the rough valuation of a rental property.

You're mistaken. Hausnummer in German translates literally into English as "house number" but can mean "approx." or "ballpark figure". e.g. können Sie mir eine Hausnummer nennen?
