German term

Einschläge

German to English Art/Literary Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting Calligraphy

Meine Idee for "umklappbare Einschläge" = "fold-down wefts"??? Klingt aber nicht besonders toll...

flips, cover flaps

Certainly not in the line of "wefts".

As it is already said that the drawings were in stable folders, the "Einschläge" have to be the side extensions that are flipped over.

There could of course be nicer wordings - but this is IMO the idea.
Peer comment(s):

agree Stephen Reader : Yes 'Einschläge' as in Bucheinschlag etc., cover, albeit not 'dustjackets' as in books, only the flaps: here, probably of the same stiff card(?) as the main body of the portfolio.
