TRIP / RESET

Desarmar um disjuntor ou qualquer mecanismo elétrico por meio de um dispositivo ou por uma condição (sobrecarga elétrica, etc.) é TRIP.
E o ato de rearmá-lo é RESET.

connect(ing)/disconnect(ing) -> many hits too but it mostly has a different meaning that is not the same as switching on and off.

I would use switch on/off. Trip/Reset is also a good option, IMO, but may be confusing.

BUT, your sentence is: "O procedimento previa que o piloto desarmasse a luz de limalha pelo disjuntor....." so you will need some adjustment:

"The procedure established that the pilot would turn off the "limalha" light by switching off the circuit breaker ..."

Or you could just say: "... would turn off the ... light by using the (corresponding) circuit breaker switch"

A propósito, não se fala em "desarmar uma luz" mas fala-se em "desarmar um disjuntor". O texto original não está bem escrito.
