Italian term

corte arbitrale di giustizia nobiliare

Italian to English Law/Patents Law (general)
I am translating a document issued by this court, and it is literally a case deciding whether or not the person in question is entitled to be considered noble....

Not being in any way noble myself, I am uncertain how to translate the name of the court - is there a court of this kind that decides on questions pertaining to hereditary titles and the like in the UK that might be considered equivalent?

College of Arms

I'm not sure whether I should be worried about knowing the answer to this. The College of Arms doesn't technically cover the whole UK, as Scotland has the Lyon Court.

Note from asker:
Thanks to you both, I'm not sure I can use College of Arms in this case, but the reference material has been extremely helpful!

agree Zuccarini : Additionally, these matters relating to the Italian nobility appear to be referred to the Court of Arbitration in Ragusa for a decision: http://www.mocterranordica.org/RagusaEng.pdf
