: Cindy, after reading Gary's answer and the source text more carefully, I am not so sure about it anymore. It is clearly speaking about a length of cable. I don't think the term "margen de ganancia" is properly used to refer to "cable slack" though

I don't think they're using "margen de ganancia" correctly here, and while they may be talking about the length of the cable, I don't think it's referring to slack.
