A pharmaceutical company has commissioned a firm to design packaging for its drugs. When the design firm submits its proposed designs in a PDF file, "les pdf correspondant aux ressources imprimées doivent etre réalisés en conformité avec les spécifications techniques contenues dans le plan d'impression". Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

'imposition' is the technical term used for 'the way the pages are set out on the sheet of paper (so they come in the right places when folded)' (professional printing not usually being done on single sheets as in the office!) — here, they seem to be talking about 'plans' that contain more than just this information, so I'm not sure if the term alone will still apply.

: I think you may find that the everyday word 'layout' and the specialist term 'lay-out' may in fact be different terms; yes, but a 'lay-out' is something different

Thanks Tony - but Collins has it all as "layout" if a noun, and "lay out" as a verb.
