: all shares are for investment purposes...this is referring to a specific class of share for a Bank//Savings shares were also issued by UK mutuals and banks (now out of vogue). Anyway, certainly not "for investment purposes"

search on Google and you will see that 'savings shares' only seems to apply in an Italian corporate context. Certainly not applicable here. 'Investment share', vague though it is, is much nearer the mark. Sorry!
