Source text - English Gráinne Seoige is one of the most celebrated Irish speakers in the country. Raised in Spiddal, Co. Galway, her celebrity Gaelgoir status has brought
increased awareness of and profile to the Irish language. She has spent over fiveteen years presenting, producing and editing news and entertainment programming, beginning as a news reader on Teilifís na Gaeilge (now TG4) on Halloween night 1996 when the station went on air for the first time, a historic night for the language.

Smaoinigh ort féin agus ar do chlann agus déan dearmad den mhéid a tá le rá ag daoine.
Más rud é go ndéanann tú botún ag leanstan do chroí, fág ag sin é. Níl ann ach taithí saolta. Ná bac le bheith ag éisteacht le "dúirt bean liom go ndúirt bean léi." Má rud é nach bhfuil rud ar bith maith ag duine le rá féadann dóibh a gcuid anál a chaomhnú go mbeidh rud inteact maith le rá acu fút nó faoi ábhar a bhaineann leat agus sin mo thuairimse cé bith. Translation - English I have a resolution for 2012, that is not to be worried about other people's opinions. It's not that I am worried about what others say about me but if you listen to what other people say about you, you are not remaining true to yourself and your own heart tells you what is right.
Think of yourself and your family and forget about what people say. If you make a mistake when following your heart, leave it at that. It is only an experience of life. Never mind listening to gossip, "a woman told me that she heard from another woman.." If no one has anything good to say they can save their breath until until they have something good to say about you or about something to do with you and that is my opinion at any rate.
People like to be complaining and they are good at talking behind backs but they do not speak out when it is badly needed.
Isn't it great that we are heading into the new year? Think of the bright side. You can do so many things this year. You can write your book. It would be nice to write a book and one thing that is true of Gaeltacht people, there is a book in each one of us. I think I will begin to research a book this year. I have a few subjects about which I would like to write a book. Undoubtedly I would like to write a book about my own people and the history of the locality. But I think there are people more educated than I am to write about the history of my locality. Therefore, I am trying hard to think about some subject about which I might have knowledge that everyone in the area does not know all about.
I was also thinking about returning to college to do a higher-level degree in some subject but again I am unsure what will be of benefit to me.
There is so much that I would like to do but now I resolve not to let life take mme unawares.

Bio
I am a bilingual native of Donegal in Ireland, where I still live. I taught Irish and English to 12--18 year old pupils for over 20 years.
A Bachelor of Arts degree holder in Irish, History and Economics from University College, Dublin, I also have a Higher Diploma in Education with Irish as a main subject from National University of Ireland, Maynooth and, in recent years, a Diploma in Translation Studies from National University of Ireland, Galway. I am a member of the Irish Translators' and Interpreters' Association (ITIA).
Having previously worked in administration in a large company, taking me for periods to different parts of Ireland, I noted the variations in culture in the different areas. My study of French, Latin and Greek contributed to my greater understanding of European, North African and Turkish cultures when I holidayed in those regions.
I have been doing translations from time to time over a long period of years and have recently completed a website translation ( English > Irish )
