German to English: Fundamentals for Crane Operator Training General field: Tech/Engineering Detailed field: Mechanics / Mech Engineering
Translation - English The rotating mechanism is built directly on the rotation platform at the base of the crane and rotates all the crane elements located above it together. For this reason base-rotating cranes are designed for "smaller" lift loads. Furthermore, this design allows a rapid assembly and disassembly of the crane. Thus, they are also often referred to as rapid deployment cranes. This type of crane is often found at residential construction sites. The winch and rotating mechanism are mounted directly above the rotation platform.

Translation - English Chapter 1. Paired Verses
1.
Mind precedes the things that we perceive through our senses. Mind leads them. They all originate in mind. If one either speaks or acts with a wrong thinking mind, then suffering follows that one like the wheel follows the foot of the one pulling a cart.
2.
Mind precedes the things that we perceive through our senses. Mind leads them. They all originate in mind. If one speaks or acts with a right thinking mind, then well-being and happiness follow that one like a shadow, never departing.
3.
"They yelled at me, they hit me,
they overpowered me, they robbed me"
-those who nurture (such thoughts),
their anger does not subside.
4.
"They yelled at me, they hit me,
they overpowered me, they robbed me"
-those who do not nurture (such thoughts),
anger in them subsides.
5.
For not by hating does hatred
ever subside in this world,
but by not-hating, it subsides.
This is an eternal truth
6.
If others do not know (and still get angry)
then let us restrain ourselves (with them)
for whoever knows this
thereafter ceases quarreling.

As an attorney, I have been reviewing and translating documents in German, Indonesian and several other languages as well as English since 1994. Professional translation is a normal part of what I do. I started with courses in professional translation of German and French to English at the University of Pittsburgh. I took German classes at the Goethe Institute in Germany. I also studied some Japanese in college. I lived and worked as an attorney in Indonesia for several years, where I took private lessons in Indonesian, Spanish and Chinese. I attended an executive MBA program in Barcelona, Spain. Later, I expanded my translation to work to other related languages, e.g. Dutch, Portuguese, Italian, Malaysian.
I truly enjoy languages and translation. Plus you get the benefit of translation by someone with a JD, MBA and an LLM in international legal studies, who is familiar with a wide range of documents and terminology. Most recently, I have been working in document legal review and translation in the medical and pharmaceutical field.
Work is done on a first-come first served basis. Even though you receive a quote from me, I may become unavailable if someone else hires me for another project first.
Rush, technical or legal work may be given a revised quote after reviewing the source text.
If there is any part that is handwritten, stamped or not clearly copied, I may ask that it first be sent to me in typewritten form in the source language.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Richard L. Weiss
