I believe this is the correct word because in deconstructionism the term is used as a fracture, separation of parts. It is not used as something becoming ineffective, losing control, collapse, decompose like a whole system is falling apart like in the word “breakdown”. There is also a semantic difference in “break down” and “breakdown”. Please read the passages below and notice the usage of the word “break”.
