SPAIN. I know what these are, as my friend uses them a lot, but I'm not sure what they're called in English nowadays ('pickup point' springs to mind...).

"Un punto de conveniencia es un lugar físico donde las mercancías compradas en línea son entregadas por los servicios postales, y recogidas por clientes particulares. El punto de conveniencia es, generalmente, un comercio de proximidad que acepta realizar, a cuenta de un operador logístico, los servicios de distribución de paquetes."

Since the software is for on line purchasing by consumers, 'pickup point' seems to be the best fit.

@Alexandra If the term is just a synonym of "pickup point", I don't think the "convenience" part is necessary. In the end, what I’m translating is basically just a list of headers that will eventually appear on screen somewhere.

@Toni That Wikipedia page is where I got the sample text from, to post here as an example of usage in context (to avoid any requests for "more context"). The actual SW string I have to translate is simply "punto de conveniencia". My friend collects her parcels from the local estanco or locutorio.

I would place the focus on the carrier. UPS uses access point. This avoids the need to specify the action being carried out (drop-off or collection)

PS Amazon in Spain calls them "Puntos de recogida", which I'd have no qualms about translating as "collection/pickup point". It's the "conveniencia" part that's throwing me off, but maybe it's just a synonym for "recogida"... perhaps it sounds more elegant to Spanish speakers?

Depending on the context (and especially the client/s involved), I'd propose a translation that is in line with the terminology used by Amazon. It sounds like you're describing what they call a collection point:
