Quizá Muy posiblemente se refiere al punto más bajo de las perforaciones realizadas con las "pistolas", ya que el autor del original trata de definir una distancia: el volumen comprendido desde el empacador hasta la base de los disparos.

a base de = using/based on....you need to give full context, i.e. what comes before and after your phrase, otherwise it is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Also if you know what part of the query means, then leave it out or explain what you have found already:) Cheers!

Thanks for that, I realised we are talking about detonating guns here, it's just the "a base de" business I'm not sure of...

Creo que el problema está en una mala colocación del paréntesis en la frase original. DEBIERA SER ASI, CREO: "Regresar fluidos por espacio anular contra formación con lodo de control (el volumen comprendido del empacador) a base de disparos." Conozco el proceso y, a menos que en el país de origen de la frase se hable cambiado lo cual es posible, me parece que debe ser así, en cuyo caso se aplicaría la frase sugerida en Inglés
