Spanish term

pta

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) Patient Report from Spain
This appears in a lot of documents I'm working on, would it be "planta" or "puerta"?

Unidad de medicina interna: MI (pta 10a)

There are different "pta" such as: 11b, etc.

Thank you!

Hi Joseph,
Yep, that one's in the question:
"Unidad de medicina interna: MI (pta 10a)" ;@)

"Check in cosnautas" should be a special Kudoz rule for medical questions, then you wouldn't need to champion the website (with very good reason) every other question ;@)

MI = IM and ... you got that MI is probably Medicina Interna?

puerta

As the numbers include letters, they appear to be rooms as opposed to floors.
You could confirm by looking at images of the hospital in question and counting the floors - even it's only got 10 floors, then "pta" is not planta.

Also remember that some services/departments/units are too small to occupy a whole floor.

***even it's only got 10 floors***??? should be "if it's only got 10 floors"!!! ;@)

neutral Neil Ashby : The asker had two options (planta y puerta) and Cosnautas wouldn't have helped, they couldn't decide which was appropriate, so it wouldn't have been a useful ref here.

Hi Neil ... actually ... you're right. I thought of this myself after I posted the reference. Still, it may be useful in steering our asker toward using Cosnautas in the future, for other acronyms.
