This first extract is from a section entitled Study population, detailing the criteria for selection.

"[Los pacientes con historia de cáncer actual o pasado también fueron excluidos.] *A la inclusión*, se recogieron de forma prospectiva todas las variables clínicas, las muestras de sangre y se realizó una ecocardiografía transtorácica."

My attempt:
For those included in the study population, all clinical variables were gathered prospectively, and blood samples and a transthoracic echocardiography were carried out.

Second extract: Heading: "Parámetros bioquímicos"
"A la inclusión, se realizó una extracción sanguínea mediante punción venosa antecubital, tras un periodo de ayunas de [...]"

"A blood sample was taken from *those included in the study population* via puncture of the antecubital vein, following a fasting period of [...]"
