Spanish term

(el mundo de la) informática

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering IT (Information Technology) Press release
Hello!
I know that "informática" already is in the KudoZ glossaries, but I need some clarification on the term.

My text goes:
"xxxx entra al mundo de la informática con un pen drive"
Context: this is an audio-video company that is now launching its first pen drive.
I would translate it as "enters the world of IT / the IT world by launching......
But I would like someone to confirm whether a pen drive can be considered in the realm of IT or if I should use some other word like informatics, computer, etc....

Thanks a lot!
And have a sweet day!

the computing world

computing world is nice and simple - but I.T. will not be understood by everyone.

Alternatively, the computing market.

IT world

your own suggestion is sufficient, given that a pen drive - being just another means of storing information-belongs in the "IT" world. imho anyone thinking of buying one would be pretty familiar with the term.
