closed group course
During the academic year (September to June), CELT specialises in organising closed group courses for young learners in our North Road teaching centre.

As a 'closed group' you enjoy the same advantages as in private tuition. This course format allows you to cover special fields of the language although you are in a group course. Likewise, you may learn a less frequently taught language in a group.

the ref is just to confirm the expression as valid

in-company course
It seems to be regional, Chilean usage, as I have found the term in mostly Chilean websites.
In the link https://www.maceotec.cl/wp/cursos-abiertos/ it says:
"Cursos Cerrados
In the link https://www.duoc.cl/educacioncontinua/empresas/capacitacion-... it says:
"Cursos Cerrados
The term "in-company courses" seems to fit the above descriptions, and it looks like it's most often used. See the below links:

https://www.brighton.ac.uk/business-services/professional-de...

I would translate your original line as follows:
"In-company refresher course on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)"
(Note: curso de actualización is a refresher course.)

Hi Francois, please see the last two lines of my post. A curso de actualización is a refresher course, but the original term queried is curso cerrado.

: Agree. This can work //Francois: there is such a thing as interpreting the text; there is no need to be literal and one learns in the translation business that literal is "not necessarily a good thing". Michael regards.

Thanks, Robert! I think "in-company course" is the way to go, as it relates specifically to a corporate environment; it's a "closed group course" just for a particular company's employees. David's option can work too, but for me it's more non-corporate.

closed refresher course
Importance of Refresher Training
Increases the self-confidence and morale of the employees. Keeping the staff updated with the latest trends. Bridging the gap between the old and new skills. Increasing the pool of talent for an organization.

That's not the point!//I still don't see the point!
I added the word 'refresher' to indicate what the course was about

: "Closed" on its own does not work; and why not agree with others perfectly valid proposals such as David's or Michael's!/Precisely the point everyone is telling you, the original question did not ask for "actualización", so your point is irrelevant!

'Curso' means 'course'; 'cerrado' means 'closed'.

I'd like to suggest the following instead of the example sentence above:
'Private refresher course on international methods of financial information'

I'd like to suggest the following instead of the example sentence above:
'Private refresher course on international methods of financial information'
Example sentence:
Curso cerrado de actualización de Normas Internacionales de Información Financiera
Course closed by updating from Internacional Methods of Financial Information

AllegroTrans
: "Course closed by updating..." makes no sense to me, you have clearly mistranslated "de" which seldom, if ever, means "by"
