Kod restorana sa izrazito pristupačnim cenama, pogotovu u Americi, ti termini se tretiraju kao isti. Međutim,‘starter’ je predjelo koje ide pre glavnog jela, dok ‘appetizer’ može da bude i aperitiv, a ne isključivo hrana. ‘Appetizer’ je hrana koja se služi na koktel zabavama, i ne mora da prethodi glavnom jelu, tj. nije a priori predjelo.

cold/warm appetizers

mislim da je to to, bolje je reci 'warm' nego 'hot appetizers' jer hot ima vise znacenja.

da,mogu i ova dva za 'fancy' restorane. Appetizers je genericki izraz, mogu da budu restorani razlicitih kategorija.
