I used only "core course" because curriculum has a different meaning in english for school's purpose.

required courses/core curriculum

These are used as synonyms, the former being the way things were said before administrative salaries were increased.

Note that the latter is singular, as it refers to the group of required courses.

These terms are more often used in course catalogs than on transcripts. The latter term now has a more authentically bureaucratic ring to it.
