Italian term

Fideiussione bancaria - eccezioni

Italian to English Bus/Financial Finance (general)
The text makes the distinction between "" and "Fideiussione bancaria" and this comes under the latter:
..."dopo aver fatto valere nei confronti del creditore tutte le eccezioni del debitore"
The 'fare valere' and the 'eccezioni' are where my problems lie.

Discussion

Mr Murray (X) Jul 5, 2010:
Can anyone confirm... Can anyone confirm my idea that 'eccezioni' in this sense is similar to 'estoppel'?

"estoppel (plural estoppels) 1.(law) a legal principle in the law of equity that prevents a party from asserting otherwise valid legal rights against another party because conduct by the first party makes, or circumstances to which the first party has knowingly contributed, make it unjust for those rights to be asserted." [Wiktionary]

I just can't understand the complete phrase to be translated well enough.

Maybe this one works.

Thank you, desertfox, but I can't seem to use this link. Is there something missing?
So, according to your comment, "(the institution) makes the payment once it has asserted all the debtor’s exceptions towards the creditor" would be a meaningful translation of this sentence?
