maxbrewster (asker) Sep 9, 2011:
Here's some more context that I've found:

La giacenza sugli stock speciali, essendo calcolata al netto degli impegni, dovrebbe essere sempre 0, a meno che si faccia scorta preventiva.
maxbrewster (asker) Sep 9, 2011:
It talks about "giacenza sugli stock speciali, essendo calcolata al netto degli impegni"
also in a table it states: "impegni da odp" and "impegni da oda di montaggio" under the following titles:
1) stock libero
2) commessa 001
3) supplier 1
etc.
Thanks for your help Jim
James (Jim) Davis Sep 9, 2011:
Need more context if this is a bank, then the "giacenza" would be deposits of money rather than goods and the "impegni" would be commitments, recognised either as provisions (liabilities) or noted as contingent liabilities, but the resulting figure wouldn't be very useful. I assumed that it was an ordinary company manufacturing and selling goods. In this case the "giacenza" would be inventory. It could therefore be useful to know how large your inventory is net of goods already ordered by customers. If it was a minus figure you had better start ordering fast. However, without specific context, it is a guessing game.
NicoleRZ Sep 9, 2011:
more... do you have more context by chance?
maxbrewster (asker) Sep 9, 2011:
Couldn't impegni means liabilities? How are you sure that it's "orders"?
I think the product sold is valve actuators...

With more research and the new context I feel sure this is material in inventory which has been earmarked to meet orders received.

Researching odp and oda I find this
