German term
Kräfte des Sicherheits- und Ordnungsdienstes
German to English
Law/Patents
Law (general)
Security/Safety measures
This is a term that constantly crops up in the context of security/safety for the venues of the World Cup next year. It has been rendered in many different ways (Security and Stewarding Service, Security and Marshalling Service, Security and Order Officials), none of which really seem to fit the bill. An alternative (Security and Law Enforcement) somehow seems to leave out the aspect that the Ordnungsdienst are indeed persons (marshals or stewards) working in and outside the stadium to ensure the safety of the spectators et al. Any bright ideas anybody? Thanks so much in advance.
