German term

Pensions-Abrechner

German to English Bus/Financial Finance (general) Work instructions and procedures
Für gesonderte Kreditoren von Pensions-Abrechner hat die Geschäftsführung dem SSC zur Zahlungsbeschleunigung eine pauschale Zahlungsfreigabe erteilt

I know it has got something to do with billing or settlement. Please check my other question on a similar term, they seem to be related.

Liane Poost Apr 21, 2021:
Right, there is a spelling mistake
"Pensions-Abrechnern" is correct.
Elizabeth Gatt (asker) Apr 20, 2021:
Thank you:)
TonyTK Apr 20, 2021:
All good, Elizabeth

I will wait a bit more before closing both questions (just to play safe on Proz) by selecting Adrian's answers. I just feel a bit uncomfortable, because Tony sent us on the right track. I hope you will not mind, Tony... I really appreciate your contribution. And great thanks to both of you for taking time to look at these questions.
Elizabeth Gatt (asker) Apr 19, 2021:
Thank you, sounds very interesting, especially because it coincided with shared services, maybe it is not a coincidence:)
TonyTK Apr 19, 2021:
The second hit ... ... mentions "shared services" FWIW. Probably just a coincidence.
TonyTK Apr 19, 2021:
Yes, the two are ... ... probably the same. I get a few hits for "pension accounting service":
https://www.gla.ac.uk/media/Media_773427_smxx.pdf
(p. 6)
https://www.indiamart.com/mynd-solutions/products-and-servic...
("payroll & pension accounting service")
Sounds a bit like the German company Persema:
https://www.persema.de/ ("Pensionsabrechnung")
Elizabeth Gatt (asker) Apr 19, 2021:
Wow, sounds interesting, I had a feeling there is a spelling mistake. But what would that service be? No results on the web. Maybe someone from Germany will try to reply, it could be something clear if you live there. And do you agree with the idea it could be one and the same term? Just spelled wrong twice?
TonyTK Apr 19, 2021:
Grammar query: Shouldn't that be "Pensions-Abrechnern"? Could be "pension accounting service".
Elizabeth Gatt (asker) Apr 19, 2021:
I tried, it would have to be pension settlement company and it didn't give me to many results on the web. I also tried pension billing company and all sorts of other phrases, but nothing sounded plausible or had any results:)
philgoddard Apr 19, 2021:
You could try "settlement company".
Elizabeth Gatt (asker) Apr 19, 2021:
I know and I am afraid it is not a clue... because this is a payment to another company/entity. I have a doubt if they are synonyms, because the one ending in -er sounds like the one which bills and the one ending in -ende sounds like the one which is billed. Just a guess. That's why I posted them as two separate questions. Also, in case they are different, the answerer would earn points for each one of them.
philgoddard Apr 19, 2021:
I think Abrechner and Abrechnende are likely to be synonyms, and the two terms might best be dealt with as one question. A Transfergesellschaft, in your other question, is set up specifically to find jobs for workers about to be laid off - I don't know if that's a clue.
Elizabeth Gatt (asker) Apr 19, 2021:
Thank you for looking at it! I have been struggling with it for some time. Deep down I was afraid it was something simple:)
Elizabeth Gatt (asker) Apr 19, 2021:
SSC is shared services company. I am sorry, this is the whole context. The work instructions are quite short and this is one section. The sentence I quoted is the only one where the term appears. The other sentences refer to other types of payments, so I doubt they could help.
philgoddard Apr 19, 2021:
Could we have several sentences of German context for each of these questions, please. And what is SSC?

pension accounting-service provider

Rente is usually the Germany vs. Austrian word for Pension that is ambiguous for a repo that I have now taken out of the equation.

I think Tony K. - with payroll + pension accounting service/ query: provider- is on to something. So I have, again, adapted his idea without conflating what IMO are two opposites of Abrechner and Abrechnende.

Example sentence:

Many opt to transfer the balance of their Employees\' Provident Fund (EPF) account to their new employer when switching jobs. A large number of employees also have an Employee Pension Scheme (EPS) account along with their EPF account.

Note from asker:
I understand this approach and it makes sense. Plus the terms are differentiated.

pension accounting

Might be safer to just say pension accounting, leaving it open.
Note from asker:
It is an idea, but the clear difference from the other term is somewhat missing. Thank you for contributing:)
