“auto_cnct” submits the single MVS job to CA_Scheduler's on-demand job tracking facility (rather than it having to be input as one of a batch or number of batches at a (much) later time, for example).

CA-Scheduler is a software package that controls the submittal and execution of batch jobs in the MVS environment. CA-Scheduler minimizes the possibilities of incorrect job submittals and jobs run out of sequence by automating the submittal and sequencing of MVS batch jobs. CA-Scheduler eliminates the need for the users to manually submit all of their production jobs on a daily basis and eliminates the need for Production Control to keyin every job each day.

A schedule is a group of one or more related jobs. Each job MUST belong to a schedule. Scheduler determines selection criteria at the schedule level.
